Running a language institute poses many challenges and places great demands on a management team; often the day-to-day pressures of supporting your teaching team uses up all the time and energy you have for professional development.  It becomes increasingly difficult to offer occasional workshops and seminars, let alone organise longer courses leading to qualifications: the will is there, but there seems no way to do anything about it.
