Linguaskill Information
Linguaskill by Cambridge is a modular online English test that assesses the four language skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. You can choose flexibly which skills you would like to be tested on.
Module Overview
Important update: Each skill is now tested as a separate module.

- Linguaskill Reading (40–59 minutes)
An adaptive test where the level of difficulty adjusts based on your answers. The test ends once there is enough information to determine your level. - Linguaskill Listening (40–59 minutes)
Also an adaptive test with variable duration depending on performance. The test ends once your level has been determined. - Linguaskill Writing (approx. 55 minutes)
Includes two written tasks completed on a computer. Responses are assessed by the test software. - Linguaskill Speaking (approx. 15 minutes)
You listen to instructions and respond via a headset. Your answers are recorded and assessed by examiners.
- Linguaskill Reading (40–59 minutes)
Result availability: Following the update, results are now typically available within 5–8 days after test completion (previously much faster).

Ideal for professional contexts and job applications. - Linguaskill General
Accepted by an increasing number of universities as proof of English proficiency.
Test Delivery
The test can be taken either:
- online from home (remote proctored), or
- on-site (in-centre) at the BERLIN SCHOOL OF ENGLISH

Important Registration Information
Please note:
- In order to take the test with us (in Germany), a residential address in Germany is required. This is stipulated by Cambridge and applies to both online and in-centre test appointments.
- Registration must be completed at least 48 hours before the test.
- Tests take place at scheduled sessions (fixed time slots).
- Due to new system requirements, all candidates are registered centrally via our Cambridge-accredited partner institute, the BERLIN SCHOOL OF ENGLISH.
- Additional personal information is required for registration (e.g. ID scan, confirmation of residence in Germany).
